Emma Klausmeyer Willius (1855-1933), the wife of Gustav Willius. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, where her father Wilhelm Klausmeyer was an active member of musical society, and eventually served on the board of directors of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. The brooch she wears in this portrait is still in the possession of my grandmother, and will pass on to my sister at her death.
